Different lifestyles present different demands for a home to meet. A retired couple with no children is not likely to need (or even want) the same amenities as a younger couple with a toddler and an infant, and vice versa. A businessman who works countless hours from home will likely view a home office as essential, while a personal trainer may feel the need for a home gym!
Today, we’re going to look at two of our most popular plans and discuss the kitchen layouts in each. The first is an older hand-drawn floor plan that has been favorite for space lovers for years, while the second offers a little more distinction between the kitchen and main living.
This home (currently being constructed in the Emerald Estates subdivision) is very popular for those who love “wide open” floor plans. With nearly 750 sq. ft. of kitchen and living area, it almost gives the feel of a studio apartment. Personally, I would recommend this floor plan to those who love to entertain and cook. Those in the kitchen are always in direct contact with the rest of the guests. There is plenty of room for cabinet space and, if more storage is needed, there is more than enough room to add a roll around island. It’s perfect for events such as superbowl parties!
This second floor plan (also currently being constructed in the Emerald Estates subdivision) offers a little more seclusion for those in the kitchen area. Countertops surround the homeowner and provide plenty of workspace. It is a good selection for those who enjoy cooking and use the kitchen to “wind down”. It is still fairly open, however, providing parents the comfort of being able to keep a watchful eye on their young children.
